Meet Anne, Founder & Managing Director
Her work is fueled by a calling to help people become powerful in their finances so they have the freedom to create lives and legacies that light them up.
Anne B. Johnston grew up in Georgia, came west to attend USC, then spent twelve years at UBS where she led Imagine, an innovative wealth team. She started her career on the municipal bond trading desk, then equipped herself with advanced technical credentials in planning, investing and special needs consulting (CFP®, CIMA® and ChSNC®).
With the understanding that technical knowledge alone is not sufficient to address the human experience with money, Anne has developed a unique approach to wealth advising. This is exemplified by her warm and open consultation style, and creative methods for guiding her clients in writing their money story.
Anne’s approach is founded in personal practice. She avidly carves out space and time for her own creativity, encouraging her clients to follow theirs too. Over 10 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has taught her to steady her reactions to the inevitable uncertainty that life presents—another set of techniques she transmits to her clients through sessions that reach far beyond typical money talk. Forbes called Anne one of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors (2018), Best-In-State Next-Gen Wealth Advisors (2019) and the Los Angeles Business Journal called her one of the Most Influential Wealth Managers in Los Angeles.*
*The Forbes ranking of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, rating thousands of wealth advisors born in 1980 or more recently, with a minimum of four years of experience and weighing factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and best practices learned through telephone and in-person interviews. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receive a fee in exchange for rankings. See http://bit.ly/2ktpEkW. For additional detail on the criteria Forbes used for the ranking, see http://bit.ly/2m30Pgd. Recipients are selected by the Los Angeles Business Journal using their own proprietary selection process. Recipients do not pay a fee to become eligible for the award. The inclusion of a wealth manager on the Most Influential Wealth Managers in Los Angeles list should not be construed as an endorsement of the wealth manager by the Los Angeles Business Journal. Working with a wealth manager who has made the list, or any wealth manager, is no guarantee as to future investment success, nor is there any guarantee that the selected wealth managers will be selected again in the future.
